I lived in Wolseley Street (yes that is the right spelling)from 1935-1955 and had an aunt who lived in Burley Village for a time, though I dont know her married name. Went to school at Kirkstall Road (now demolished). Interested in the history of Burley Park. Anyone know when it was created?

I am a descendant of the Hillas family who lived in this area in the early 1900's. My great granduncle Julius Hillas was married at the Burley Methodist Church in 1905; he lived at 16 Greenhow Terrace at the time. I didn't know this when I visited the area in 2003; however, I did visit No. 3 Sowood Street off of Kirkstall Road, where the Hillas family lived in 1901. Can anyone kindly tell me which cemeteries are in the area? I have been looking for the grave of my great-great grandfather, Isaac Hillas, for some time and am not sure where to start. He died in Jan. 1902. The rest of the family eventually ended up in Canada (I am American). It is difficult to search for these things from so far away! Thank you.
