Celebrate Headingley

Preparations are under way for the second 'Celebrate Headingley' event in the afternoon and evening of September 7th.

This year, as well as cream teas in the Methodist Hall in the afternoon, classical music in St Columba's church in the early evening and a band and dancing in the later evening at Our Lady of Lourdes, we hope to include exhibitions and stalls from local groups, an 'oral history' project recording people's early memories of Headingley in the library and a heritage walk.

There are plans for children's events and a showcase of young bands from our area as well as a candle-lit lantern procession linking the events together. The details are to be confirmed. Check the Headingley Network site for latest information.

If you can help in any way or have ideas for activities or belong to a local group that would like to have a stall, please contact Rachel Harkess (2756652).
