Event Twenty Two30th October 2004 : As part of a City wide Churches outreach event during half term called Carnival, Burley Green joined forces with local volunteers and a small team from outside Leeds to litter pick around the Burley Lodge area. Gosh! Was it really two months ago? It’s 22nd December and Mike is badgering me yet again to write up this event. So here it is, at least what I can remember. There were about 15 of us. More people than litter pickers in fact (has that happened before?) One person came from Cornwall. How nice, to come all the way from Cornwall just to pick litter in Burley Lodge. I must return the favour sometime. We picked for about two hours. We didn't have a bacon sandwich at the end. What a shame. Burley Lodge is looking a lot cleaner lately. I live there, so I'm very grateful. Thanks very much Burley Green. If you live in Burley Lodge, and happen to be reading this, do consider volunteering for them. You might have to cross the railway for events in "other" Burley sometimes, but that's OK.
