Pot HolesThe state of our RoadsDear Residents of Woodside Ave, Over the last few months, I have become more aggreived with the state of the roads around Woodside Ave. Specifically the number and size of pot holes, especially on Argie Ave, and the lower half of Woodside Ave. As the nights draw in a lot earlier now, it is becoming harder to spot the pot holes before my car goes "thud" into one of them. I have recently been informed by my car dealer that I need to replace 3 of my wheels as they are "bent out of shape", the approxiate cost of this is £500. My previous car suffered just as badly in that I needed 2 new shock absorbers on the same wheel in the space of only 6 months. The culprits??? those damned pot holes. I plan to take up this issue with both the Local Council + the Highways Agency; as the responsible parties, I hope to ensure that firstly the post holes are filled in to a decent standard (ie not use the trick of pouring in tarmac haphazardly to create a mound, and let us motorists flatten it down with our cars over time), and maybe see if compensation is available for repairs to the car caused by their bad road management. This webpage is here for you to post your comments/experiences of the roads around Woodside Ave. (See below for instructions on how to place comments on this page.) Have you incurred costs that you think relate to the poor condition of our roads ??? Or just fed up with the our roads. If Yes, please do post a commment. Please do visit this site periodically, as I will try to keep it up-to-date with my progess. Many thanks AndyD. To enter a comment follow these instructions:
Enter your comments below here please:1. If you recently received the top-quality "Leeds" magazine from the council, then there is a list of LCC phone numbers near the back - I think there is a dedicated number for "pot holes", a sign of how bad the problem is! And you should see what those holes do to the state of my bike! Maybe we should do a Burley Green event with a load of tarmac to fill those holes?!!? Steven Ward
2. I just looked - the number for 'Pot Holes' is 247 7500 See also: Burley Domestic Zone Pages that link to this page: Burley Domestic Zone / Burley Talk |
