OCH AYE THE NOO!!!!

We’re off to bonnie Scotland!

Who is? The Ross family.

Where? Stanely House, Paisley.

What? Family Discipleship Training School ??(FDTS)

Why? Because God told us to!

Family Discipleship Training School ??(FDTS)

We are off to Scotland for six months from 1st Sept to end of Feb 2002. The school is run by Youth With A Mission ??YWAM. We are going to be taking part in the second only British based ??FDTS

We will undergo a 12-week ??lecture phase – kids and adults receiving their own relevant training. Lectures include;

• The Father Heart of God,
• Evangelism,
• The Holy Spirit’s role' etc.

Two evenings a week there will be courses on parenting and marriage.

Schooling:

The kids will be home-schooled in the mornings by the other parents and us. Their own school is being very helpful providing info on the curriculum they would have been studying back in Leeds. We are very encouraged that the children play a substantial role in this school and are trained themselves and not just left as add-ons to adults. They will have their own exciting programme and leaders. We will all join together regularly for worship.

There will be a six-week ??outreach somewhere in Europe and a two week one in Scotland.

What about the future?

We are not sure yet. We have been praying with our church leadership confirming God’s leading. We feel that it is an important time for Kate and Stuart to be together looking at what God is calling us to do as a family rather than individuals. We will be pleased that Stu will not be commuting and therefore much more available to work together with us. We anticipate coming back in March and working with Keith in whatever way the church needs with Stu possibly back in his old job for a season. We hope to then practice all we’ve been learning whilst asking God for whatever comes next!

Any thing you can do?

• Please pray for the other eight families and us from various nations on the school. • Please pray that the kids settle well and that schooling is relevant and informative. • Does anyone know 2-3 people who would rent our house in Leeds (3 bed-roomed house with 2 gardens) from Sept – Feb? We really do need some tenants to maintain the house and help pay the mortgage and living costs. • Support us prayerfully/writing/emailing us/financially – we are probably near our goal but may need further funds for the outreach phase – travel costs etc.

Please keep in touch via the church website/email or letters. We hope to send prayer letters by post and email on a regular basis. We value so much that we are linked to such a wonderful church. We shall miss you very much and will look forward to returning full of God’s vision!
