Sheila HamiltonUpdate Novembe 2004Hi I am back again. Just had another book published in time for the holidays. It is about three English children who leave Leeds, to live in the USA. They will find themsleves caught up in an adventure that will eventually end back at Leeds University. This is a delightful book for children ages 8-12 and can be purchased from www.Authorhouse.com Available in the UK. My books seem to end up all over the world, but they will always have some connection to Leeds, as this is where I was raised and the memories will never fade. A kirkstall Rd; infant and secondary school student, has brought me far... Who never dreamed that she would one day become a famous author. A Baby Boomer's Journey was my first book. This new book is called Mystery on Citrus Island by April Hamilton. It takes place mainly on the Gulf Coast of Florida. A mystery book for children ages 8-12. Lots of excitement for the holidays. Cheers to all, please contact me if you cannot find the book. Remember my pen name is April Hamilton and this is the best way to search for the mystery story. About Sheila HamiltonI lived most of my childhood in "Bankfield Grove," I went to Kirkstall county Primary school (Burley Road). I later attended Kirkstall County Secondary School I lived in Burley from 1950 to 1968. In 1969 I married and moved to the USA. Recently I have written a book called "A Baby Boomer's Journey" by April Hamilton (my pen name), available from Amazon books. It tells the story of a "Burley" girl and her family. The story starts with a "Christmas" in the 50's with two young girls going into town, visiting the "Grotto" at Lewis's. A typical Christmas eve, with carol singers from Burley Methodist Church. Later it will cover the coronation and events taking place in Leeds. i.e. Children's Day, at Roundhay Park... I think any one who lived in the area around the 50s and 60s would enjoy the book. Perhaps even those who have had the pleasure of living there, in the later years. I would like to think that my book will bring some help and strength to those that need it. A person can survive anything as long as they are brought up in a neighborhood that has strong family values and a real caring for its community. I have been living in the USA for many years, most of my adult life in Maryland. My home now is in Florida. I have always had a warm spot in my heart for "Burley." I would like to find out how I can search for people that I may have gone to school with? Is there anyone out there from "Bankfield Grove?" I hope so... Cheers!
