West Yorkshire Symphony OrchestraThe West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) was formed in 2003, and provides young professionals from around our region with the opportunity to play and listen to classical music, performed at a high standard. Currently, WYSO rehearses in Hyde Park Methodist Church. Our programme over the last couple of years has ranged from Mozart's Clarinet Concerto through to Elgar's Enigma Variations, by way of a few symphonies. We're also happy to give exposure to new composers, and have premiered three new-works in our time, all penned by local composers. Our most recent venture was to open the 'Beached 2005' rock festival in Scarborough, collaborating with Japanese rock band 'Electric Eel Shock'! The event had to be seen to be believed - safe to say we'll be appearing there again next year! WYSO's next conert is to be held at St Joseph's Church in Roundhay, on 10th December - prepare yourselves for "Bewitching Beethoven!", showcasing some of the best-loved works of one of Germany's finest. If you'd like more details about WYSO, including concert inquiries and membership, feel free to visit www.wyso.org.uk or contact us at: mailto:wyso_leeds@yahoo.co.uk We look forward to hearing from you soon!
